Frequently Asked Questions
-
This is probably the most common question we get — and it's a fair one.
The honest answer: when insurance is in the room, it drives the car. It decides how long you're seen, how many visits you get, and sometimes even what we're allowed to work on. That's not how we think care should work.
By stepping outside of that system, we get to focus entirely on you — your history, your goals, your nervous system, your life. Every session is one-on-one with Dr. BettyLou. No double-booking. No rushing. No paperwork pulling attention away from your care.
We believe you deserve a therapist who's fully present. This model makes that possible.
-
We're transparent about pricing from the start. No surprise bills, no codes you don't understand, no explanation of benefits that doesn't actually explain anything.
Reach out to us directly and we'll walk you through exactly what to expect before your first visit.
It's also worth doing the math on what insurance-based PT actually costs you. Copays of $30–$50 per visit, two to three times a week, adds up quick. Often more than people expect. And that's before factoring in deductibles, session limits, and the reality that many insurance-based clinics rotate patients every 15–20 minutes.
We're not the right fit for everyone financially, and we'll always be honest about that. But for many people, the value of truly individualized care, fewer visits, more progress, makes the numbers work.
-
Nope. You can contact us directly and get started right away.
No doctor's visit required. No waiting for paperwork. No hoops to jump through.
Because we're a cash-based practice, we're not bound by the insurance rules that typically create those hurdles. You reach out, we connect, and we get to work.
If you've been putting off getting help because you assumed you needed a referral first — you don't. Reach out today.

The first visit is a full evaluation — but it won't feel like an intake form being read back at you.
Dr. BettyLou will take the time to actually understand your story: how long this has been going on, what makes it better or worse, how it's affecting your daily life, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for.
From there, she'll do a physical assessment and begin putting together a picture of what's driving your symptoms — not just what's hurting, but why.
You'll leave your first visit with a clearer understanding of what's happening in your body and a plan for how to move forward.
Most people tell us it's the first time someone actually listened.
-
That's a really important question — especially if you've been through PT before and didn't feel like it helped.
Traditional PT clinics operate under tight insurance constraints. That often means shorter sessions, shared spaces, exercises handed off to a tech, and a focus on the specific injury listed on your referral.
At Rise & Reframe, we look at the whole picture. Pain is rarely just about the tissue. It's connected to how your nervous system is responding, how you're sleeping, how much stress you're carrying, how you've been moving (or not moving) for years. We care about all of that.
You won't feel like a chart number here. You'll feel like a person.
-
That depends on you — and we'll be honest with you about what we're seeing from the beginning.
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people make significant progress in just a few sessions. Others have more complex situations that take longer to unwind. What we can tell you is that we won't keep scheduling visits unless they're genuinely moving you forward.
Our goal is to give you tools and understanding so you need us less over time, not more.

We work with a wide range of people dealing with pain, movement challenges, and the kind of symptoms that haven't fully responded to other treatments.
Common areas include: back and neck pain, joint pain, post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, headaches, hypermobility, sports and activity-related injuries, pelvic health, and nervous system-driven symptoms that don't fit neatly into a single diagnosis.
And honestly? Whatever you're dealing with — we love getting to know you and figuring it out together.
We've worked alongside all kinds of people: active adults ready to reclaim their movement, moms learning to reconnect with their bodies postpartum, dancers and cheerleaders managing the unique demands of their sport, runners chasing goals, and everyone in between.
If you're not sure whether we're the right fit, just reach out. We'd rather have a conversation and point you in the right direction than have you wonder.
-
Only you can answer that, and we'll never pressure you either way.
What we can tell you is this: if you've been managing pain for months or years, if you've tried other things without lasting results, if you're starting to lose confidence in your body's ability to change. That's exactly who we built this practice for!
You're not broken. Your body is adaptable. And understanding what's actually driving your symptoms is often the thing that changes everything.
We're happy to talk through whether this is the right fit before you commit to anything.
